Mike “Norton” Suchodolski
Electronic Technician, Luthier, Fabricator, Machinist, Guitarist.
How’d all this happen?
My musical journey began essentially from day one with infinite thanks to my father Mike Such Sr, who was a wildly talented pianist and composer of all genres of music. Dad made sure I was immersed in his world of music. Attending gigs at age 5 to help load-in and get drinks for the band to spending time in studios all around the Philly area. At around age 10 Dad traded in an old speaker cabinet to Benny Cintioli for my first acoustic guitar, after a few minutes with a guitar in hand I realized this is what I was gonna do!
Dad struck again at age 19 helping me land a job doing pro-lighting, staging and front of house sound. After 10 years of staging, sound and lighting and maintaining that equipment multiplied by infinite back-aches I landed at RetroLinear as a technician and part of the Retro design team. Luckily I was able to essentially understudy at Retro to expand on my electronics knowledge, repair and design practices.
Retro ran a vigorous repair business for nearly 15 years, however closed the repair division to pursue other business ventures in 2022. I still serve at Retro as a design consultant and tech as needed on some special projects. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought to be fixing gear for the Rockstars I grew up listening to but so it happened!
Do it right or not at all.
